Will of Catherine Nelson
I, Catherine Nelson, at the date of the execution of this instrument, a resident of Logan City, Cache County, State of Utah, being of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under any restraint, force, duress, or undue influence or representations of any person or persons whatever, do hereby make, publish, and declare this my last will and testament, and hereby revoking any will by me heretofore made, published. and declared viz:
I. I direct that all my first debts be paid including funeral expenses and expenses of last sickness and costs and expenses of administering my estate and executing my will.
II. I direct that all the real and personal property of which I may die seized or possessed of whatever nature and description be, by the executors of this last will and testament, converted into money with such speed as shall not impair the value of the estate, and that the proceeds of the same together with such money as I shall have on hand or in bank shall, after the payments be made as afore said, be appropriated to the following bequests,
viz:
III. I give and bequeath to my son, Edward W. Nelson, the sum of three hundred thirty five ($335.00) dollars.
IV. I give and bequeath to my son William W. Nelson the sum of three hundred thirty five ($335.00) dollars.
V. I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Hill the sum of twenty-five ($25.00) dollars.
VII. I give and bequeath to my son Brigham W. Nelson the sum of six hundred ninety-five ($695.00) dollars.
VIII. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Richardson, the sum of nine hundred ten ($910.00) dollars.
IX. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary A. Williams the sum of eight hundred eighty-five ($885.00).
X. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas W.R. Nelson, the sum of three hundred thirty five ($335.00) dollars.
The eight several bequests to my eight children herein before sit forth are devised in the several amounts stated herein for the reason that certain advancements of real estate have heretofore been made by me to each of the said children, which said advancements have been of different and unequal values, and the object of the bequests herein is to equalize the amount received or to be received by each of the said children, and to give to each of the said children by said respective advancements together with the bequests so made equal share and division of my estate.
XI. I give and bequeath to Charles Nelson and to Marian N. Adams, children of my husband by another wife, each the sum of five dollars.
XII I give and bequeath to Edward N. Rowland, John Rowland, Thomas N. Rowland, Catherine R. Murdock, Margaret R. Miller, Isabell R. Jones, William Rowland and Elizabeth Rowland, the children of my deceased daughter, Isabell Rowland, each the sum of two and 50/100 ($2.50) dollars.
XIII. If after the several bequests enumerated above shall have been fully paid to the respective legatees herein named here shall remain in the hands of the executors of this my last will and testament, any sum of amount over and above the aggregate thereof, and the costs and expenses of administering my estate and executing this will and the debts provided for in paragraph I, hereof, then I give and bequeath and direct the same to be paid to my eight children, Edward W. Nelson, William W. Nelson, John W. Nelson, Catherine Hill, Brigham W. Nelson, Elizabeth Richardson, Mary A. Williams, and Thomas W.R. Nelson share and share alike.
XIV I hereby name, designate and appoint Edward W. Nelson of Logan City, Utah as the executor of this my last will and testament without bonds and direct that my estate be settled as speedily as possible and with as little costs as expenses as may be.
And to that end, I direct that such personal property, or which I may die possessed, may be disposed of by my executor without an order of court, and in such manner as in their opinion and discretion may be best for the estate, due accounting bring made therefor by said executor.

The foregoing last will and testament of Catherine Nelson consisting of two pages besides this was on the date thereof by the said Catherine Nelson, signed, sealed, and published as and declared by her to be her last will and testament in the presence of us, who at her request, and in her presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
