Obituary for Henry Hezekiah Mills, Deseret News, 24 Nov 1941, Page 8

FARMINGTON--Services for Henry Hezekiah Mills, 82, of North Farmington, who was killed Saturday in a traffic accident, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the North Farmington Ward.
A Spanish-American War Veteran and Veteran of Foreign Wars, Mr. Mills was born at Neoga, Ill., May 28, 1859, to Elwood and Eliza Jane Stout Mills.
His first wife, Ida M. Walter, whom he married on March 6, 1883 at Hutchinson Kan., died several years ago. He married in 1923 Mary B. Barkdull of North Farmington.
During the Spanish-American War, Mr. Mills was a member of Torrey's rough riders. He came to the west 50 years ago.
He also had lived in Malad, Pocatello, and Arbon, Idaho and Tremonton, Utah, where he was well known as a stockman, rancher, and veterinarian. While in Arbon, he established a literary society.
Active in the Church, he was a worker in the Salt Lake Temple until 1927. He also was prominent in genealogical work.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, C.E. Mills of Idaho Falls, Ida., three daughters, Mrs. William N. Roland and Mrs. J.E. Andrews of Pocatello, Ida.; and Mrs. J.E. Brown of Montrose, Calif., one borther, Oscar Mills of Kansas, two sisters, Mrs. Della Pennell and Mrs. Lida Ayres of Garnett, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandhcilren.
Friends may call Tuesday and Wednesday until 11 a.m. at the Union Mortuary in Bountiful, and Wednesday from noon to time of the services at the North Farmington Ward Chapel. Bishop John Ivan Hess of the North Farmington Ward will officiate. Burial will take place in the Farmington Cemetery.
